Meeting notes without the recording
Meetings become part of your memory instead of a folder of audio files — and it is included in every plan, trial included.

Meeting recorders solve one hour of your day and forget the other seven. The notes land in their own app, in their own silo, disconnected from the work the meeting was actually about.
ShogunAI treats a meeting as what it is: a dense hour of the same day the rest of the memory layer already covers.
How it works
With meeting notes enabled and transcription configured, ShogunAI uses meeting signals to help start a transcript. No bot joins the call, but audio is still processed by a transcription service. The absence of a bot does not remove privacy considerations for participants. When the meeting ends you get a recap: what was decided, what was assigned, what stayed open, and who owes what to whom.
Those outputs are not a separate document. Commitments made in the call become open loops in the same tables that track the rest of your week, so the follow-up you promised at 15:40 shows up in the morning brief and in the drafted email — not in a notes app you would have had to remember to open.
What is stored, and what is not
Stored: the transcript text, who said it, when, and which meeting it came from.
Not stored: the audio. ShogunAI does not write a recording to disk, does not keep a temporary audio file, and does not produce one at any point in the pipeline. Transcript text is still sensitive information: review what is captured, who can access your Mac, and any external processing you enable.
Language handling matters here, so the transcription is multilingual by default. A call that switches between Japanese and English comes back as one transcript, not two broken halves.
The part we will not bury
Live transcription uses Deepgram Nova-3 Multilingual rather than running
entirely on your Mac. You supply your own Deepgram API key in Settings, and
Deepgram usage is billed separately by that provider. ShogunAI sends audio for
transcription with mip_opt_out=true, opting those requests out of Deepgram's
model improvement program. See Deepgram's documentation.
That is a real exception to "your data stays on your machine," and it is the reason we are writing it in plain language here instead of in a footnote. The app discloses it in the meeting interface, the traceability log records it like any other egress, and if you would rather not, meeting notes can stay off without affecting anything else.
This describes ShogunAI's current implementation, not a claim that local transcription is impossible. If your work requires audio to remain entirely on the device, leave live transcription off and use manual notes instead.
Included in every plan
Meeting notes are an app feature in Standard, Pro, and the seven-day trial; live transcription still requires your own Deepgram key and provider usage. Manual notes do not require that transcription key. This is a feature you have to feel to evaluate, and a trial that hides it is a trial that cannot answer the question you are trying to answer. The only meeting-related feature behind Pro is reaching meeting memory from your own AI tools through the Memory API.
Recording a meeting is easy. Having the meeting change what your system does for the rest of the week is the part worth building.
