Privacy Policy
Last updated September 4, 2026
ShogunAI is built around a local-first view of work context. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect through the ShogunAI website, waitlist, and related product experiences, why we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Information we collect
On the website, we may collect your email address for early-access updates, basic product analytics events, and technical information needed to prevent abuse. Inside the ShogunAI product, memory data and work context are intended to stay on your device by default and are not assumed to be automatically sent to our servers.
2. How we use information
We use collected information to manage early access, prevent spam and fraud, improve service quality, and send important product updates. We do not sell waitlist registration data for third-party advertising without your explicit permission.
3. Local storage and search
Memory data and the text-search index are stored on your Mac. Visual screen memory is off by default and, if enabled, has a retention period you select. We do not automatically send this local data to our servers for advertising or model training.
Services that process data
Anthropic processes service-funded AI requests, including enabled live meeting summaries and translations. Agent prompts and the relevant context go to the provider or local vendor CLI you choose. Composio processes Gmail inbox reads, drafts and sends after your three-part consent. Deepgram processes live audio with your own key and model-improvement opt-out enabled; SHOGUN does not save audio files. Optional speech formatting sends dictation text to Groq using your key. Cloudflare hosts the website and Fly.io hosts the AI gateway; Supabase stores website, billing and support records; Stripe processes payments and subscription records; Resend delivers transactional mail. These services receive the data needed for their respective functions.
Analytics choices
Desktop feature-count analytics uses PostHog and is on by default. Turn it off during onboarding or in Settings → Privacy & Security; both controls update the same preference. Captured text, personal work content and keys are excluded. Website PostHog analytics is separate and off until you choose Allow. Use Analytics preferences to withdraw website consent. Website session replay and automatic text capture are disabled.
Saved screens and local deletion
Visual recall is off by default. If enabled, screenshots stay in the encrypted local memory database for 1–7 days or a custom period up to 3,650 days; the default is 3 days. Automatic age deletion stays on. At 2 GiB, new frames stop instead of deleting unexpired frames to make space. Screens are not uploaded. You can view and delete local frames and memory in Settings. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete Application Support data. Revoking Gmail consent stops subsequent sync and sending; remove its key separately in Settings if desired. Previously saved messages remain until you delete local memory.
6. Your choices
You can unsubscribe from product emails using the link in those messages. Send deletion, access, or other privacy requests to info@shogunaios.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain uses of your information.
